  • Introducing the zoo's newest stars of Zoya the jaguar, the pygmy hippopotamus and Pippo. In addition, a lot of kids animals: tapir cub, the emu chicks, white Bennett kangaroo kid, a week-long squirrel monkey nursery.

Featured animals

  • The tiger (Panthera tigris) is the largest cat species, reaching a total body length of up to 3.3 m (11 ft) and weighing up to 306 kg (670 lb). It is the third largest land carnivore (behind only the polar bear and the brown bear). Its most recognizable feature is a pattern of dark vertical stripes on reddish-orange fur with a lighter underside.

  • The black crested gibbon (Nomascus concolor) is an endangered species of gibbon found in China, Laos, and northern Vietnam, with four subspecies. The length from the head to the end of body is 43–54 cm (17–21 in) and it weighs from 6.9 to 10 kg (15 to 22 lb). The species exhibits sexual dichromatism, the male is almost completely black, but sometimes with white or buff cheeks, while the female is a golden or buff colour with variable black patches, including a black streak on the head.

  • The panda (Ailuropoda melanoleuca, lit. "black and white cat-foot"), also known as the giant panda to distinguish it from the unrelated red panda, is a bear native to central-western and south western China. It is easily recognized by the large, distinctive black patches around its eyes, over the ears, and across its round body.

  • The black caiman (Melanosuchus niger) is a large crocodilian and the biggest extant member of the family, Alligatoridae. It is a carnivorous reptile that lives along slow-moving rivers, lakes, seasonally flooded savannas of the Amazon basin, and in other freshwater habitats of South America. It is a quite large species, growing to sizes of at least 5 m (16 ft) and possibly up to 6 m (20 ft) in length.

  • The polar bear (Ursus maritimus) is a bear native largely within the Arctic Circle encompassing the Arctic Ocean, its surrounding seas and surrounding land masses. It is the world's largest land carnivore and also the largest bear, together with the omnivorous Kodiak bear, which is approximately the same size.

The system is capable to present the information not only in "normal" version - optimized for dekstop web browsers -, but in mobile version as well, which is optimized for mobile devices (smartphones, tablets). You don't need to do anything, just open the website on you smartphone, and the system will present the mobile-optimized version automatically. (It is possible to change to full version of course any time.)

It is possible to reach the information stored in the system - object infos, tours, collections, etc. - "directly", by putting a QR code next to the physical object, and reading that by you mobile device's camera. That will automatically open the device's browser and load the particular page with the related data.

Note: Most modern smartphone's camera application already includes such QR code reading function. For those models that doesn't have this as built in feature. there are plenty 3rd party applications available for all main mobile platforms.
